Created January 20, 1999, from the merger of the Fédération française des foires et salons (founded in 1925) and the Fédération française des salons spécialisés (founded in 1954), Foires et Salons de France (FSF) then merged with l'Association nationale des professionnels de centres de congrès (ANPCC) to form Foires Salons et Congrès de France (FSCF) in 2001. Today FSCF has been joined by event organizers from the Association nationale des agences de communication événementielle (ANAé) to become FSCEF, the only professional organization of the exhibition and events industry in France.
FSCEF is organized in six distinct groups :
In addition FSCEF has a number of associate members (Belgian and Swiss organizers, national or international partner organizations) for a total of over 300 members (as of July 2009).

2. Provide services to its members
Implement sector-wide or one-time activities that involve all or individual groups.
Serve as a medium for exchanging ideas and experience on long-term development.
Develop programs and services that benefit everyone.
